An OOBer's Diary
Really tired
Saturday, December 13, 2003
So last night I find myself really tired. And I generally start falling asleep, but keep waking myself up enough to realise that I'm falling asleep. And it is then that I start to notice oh so subtle vibrations. Must try this again.
New method??

Last night I went to sleep at about 1am. I was just playing around and seeing if I could get anything to happen, so I started thinking about what it was that went on in my brain (note the use of brain not mind) when I attempted an OBE. So I thought about it and suddenly what felt like a tiny lightning strike happened. I managed to get it to happen over and over again, but I could never get the sensation to continue. Probably because each time it happened I always shocked myself. Oh Well.
He grabbed my hands he did!!!

well last night I managed to almost fall asleep, when I started feeling the vibrations. Great stuff. Anyway so I put my *ghost* hands up only to have them grabbed by someone else! Soon this person is pulling on me to get me out of my body. But nothing, so he tries from a different angle. From behind me. Nothing. All of a sudden, I feel that I have fallen to the ground and his hand is on my chest. I say to him: "Come on then, show me how to use this astral vision". I heard these words clearly in my mind as I said them. But I don't think the other guy did. And then I went into dream world.
Relaxing the body
Monday, October 27, 2003
During last nights attempts, I certainly learnt a couple of new things. I was attempting to relax my body, as I was not interested in attempting an OOB and was just trying to relax so that I could go to sleep faster. I noticed that when my body did spontaneously relax I would feel a particularly deep exhalation, or a sigh come from my body. And I would suddenly feel slightly disconnected. Now the important thing here, is that previously I had always been thinking... I must stay awake, I am going to have an OOB. And over time all this does is not let my body fall asleep. So there is definitely a 'letting go' that must be done so that the body relaxes. Well a couple of times once the body had relaxed I received vibrations. And it certainly felt like I had left the body, however I don't think I did. I was not able to perceive anything outside of my body or house, I was just feeling movement, up down left right. And I think it was just me. On another note, while I had the hypnogogic (or hypnopompic) imagery, I saw something that I took to mean the following "Once the vibrations of the planets are figured out something will happen". Don't know... Most likely the imaginings of an very visual brain.

Condition B
Well... last night I kept on waking up finding myself in condition B. However, it wasn't as deep as I would have liked. Also I kept on focusing on what my body was doing instead of just enjoying the *silence* (i.e. as in my brain wasn't bringing up any thoughts). Mental note: Don't focus on the body when you do this.
RE W1: States of Consciousness.
Saturday, October 11, 2003
Well. Now that week one has finished, I have decided that the goals of the week one exercises are to be my goals to master. Seeing as I have never achieved (consciously) anything that was past the week 1 exercises, I shall focus on those. What I did learn this week, was that I now know what the different states are and how I can refer to them when talking with other people. And below are the definitions: Condition A: This is what we call the state where you haven't actually fallen asleep yet, but you are starting to 'see'images. You will probably have experienced this. Condition B: This is a state a bit further on from that. In this condition you have gone through condition A, and become aware of your body responding slowly or with some people noticing that breathing is hardly perceptible. This last, while your body has started falling asleep. Condition C: This is generally the last stage before a conscious OBE (Although I have never reached in whilst in control). Where you are no longer aware of what your physical body is doing, and it becomes easier to separate.
